MA, BSC Hons (Ost) - Registered Osteopath
Ruth studied Osteopathy as a second degree, keen to work with people in a field which had scope for self-development and enquiry. She graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in London, and moved to New Zealand in 2001. All her postgraduate studies have been in Australasia, with a particular interest in womens’ and children’s health.
Osteopathy is a diverse profession, with constant challenges and opportunities for learning. Osteopathic work – and education – has been much disrupted by the challenges of Covid, but this is also a rewarding experience, which has required us to come together as a profession to meet the demands of our times. Ruth is currently completing the Biodynamic modules of Osteopathy in the Cranial Field, with previous study through the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation. She loves to work with babies, and families, and ran a clinic at the Helensville Birthing Centre. Now she volunteers time at the Osteopathic Children’s Foundation in Hamilton, which enables her to keep in touch and work together with colleagues.
Ruth has worked at various Auckland clinics.. She lives in Muriwai, where her home clinic is set in the middle of a thriving veggie patch, aiming to model an intentional life with health at the centre of all.
Ruth practises at the Central Auckland clinic. She is registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand and is an ACC accredited treatment provider.
